Chair of the Aromas-San Juan School District Board of Trustees, Jennifer Colby, gave this statement in response to a question about Superintendent Willard McCabe's status with the district.
"The superintendent's contract is in place until June 30, 2014. The board chose to not extend the contract past that date in closed session at the December 4th meeting. The decision was required to be made by March 30 regarding the superintendent's contract. The board decided to give the superintendent the courtesy of a longer notice in this matter. The majority of the board felt it was time for new leadership."
