Arts Council Launches its Arts Express! Grant Program

The San Benito County Arts Council is excited to launch its new Arts Express! Grant Program for local artists and arts organizations.

The goal of the Arts Express! Grant Program is to support cultural and artistic growth, foster arts accessibility and equity and promote cultural diversity in San Benito County. Arts Express! provides support to local artists, art groups and art and cultural organizations through quick and easy mini-grants up to $500. Applicants may request funding for the creation of new work; exhibitions & presenting; arts in education programs; community outreach or to support organizational capacity.

Grant requirements include that applicants must be based in San Benito County. Project activities shall reflect artistic practices and traditions in the visual and performing arts (i.e. music, dance, theater, fine art, traditional arts, etc.), as well as demonstrate quality, originality and creativity through artistic production. All projects shall promote cultural awareness, diversity and inclusion.

The Arts Council will be hosting a Grant Workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at ARTspace, 240 Fifth Street in Downtown Hollister. In addition to a discussion on grant guidelines, this event will also include information on artistic opportunities, open studios, membership and more.
