San Benito County farmers and ranchers who have been impacted by the recent flooding may be eligible for cost-sharing assistance from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) under the Emergency Conservation Program.

The ECP provides help for debris removal and the restoration of cropland, including land leveling. Additionally, the program can be used to repair eligible structures that were damaged by the flooding. Approval is dependent upon meeting certain eligibility requirements and funding limitations may apply, the USDA said in a press release.

Producers who were affected by the flooding should contact the San Benito/Santa Clara County Farm Service Agency to report losses to to obtain more information.
