Attempted Robbery and Stabbing in Hollister Saturday Night

Victim stabbed during robbery attempt on East Street in Hollister on Sept 28. He was flown to hospital with injuries which did not appear to be life-threatening.

HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – September 30, 2013– On Saturday, September 28, 2013, about 11 PM, Hollister Police Officers responded to the Agua Azul Bar located at 840 East Street on a report of a victim of a stabbing. Arriving officers found a 36-year-old male with a single stab wound to the right side of his abdomen.

The victim told officers he was walking in the parking lot near the bar, when he was accosted by two males and a female. One male placed a knife to the victim’s throat from behind, while the second male held a knife against the victim’s stomach. The men demanded money from the victim. The victim, reflexively, began to pull the knife held by the first male away from his throat. The second male responded by stabbing the victim in the stomach. Both males and the female ran to a nearby silver-colored SUV and sped away south on East Street.

The victim was flown to a bay area trauma hospital via CALSTAR. His injuries do not appear life-threatening. Officers are actively working leads in this case.
