Red Cross volunteers provide support to people affected by Hollister home fire

An early morning fire on April 14 at a residence in the city of Hollister prompted a response from the city's Fire Department, an assist from CalFire personnel, and support from the American Red Cross.

Red Cross seeks volunteers to help install smoke alarms during Sound the Alarm events in Central Coast

The Central Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking people to volunteer their time at one or more of its local Sound the Alarm home fire safety and smoke alarm installation events planned for this spring.

Disaster-response trailer stolen from Red Cross facility

A disaster-response trailer has been stolen from the American Red Cross's Santa Cruz facility. The trailer was stocked with cots, blankets, and other emergency supplies used during Red Cross responses in San Benito, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties.

Insurance Company’s gift supports local Red Cross disaster-response

A Monterey-based insurance carrier is giving $70,000 to the American Red Cross of the Central Coast. The gift is enabling the chapter to purchase a disaster-response vehicle that will primarily be used in San Benito and other local counties.
