On Nov.1 the Baymont Inn and Suites opened for business replacing the Best Western Hotel located at 660 San Felipe Road in Hollister. The Baymont Inn and Suites is part of the larger Wyndham Worldwide Corporation which includes hotels, vacation rentals, and vacation ownership through timeshares. According to the Wyndham Worldwide website, “Wyndham Hotel Group is the world’s largest and most diverse hotel business, with a global portfolio of more than 8,100 hotels and over 705,700 rooms in 79 countries”. The Baymont Inn and Suites in Hollister is one of its newest locations.
Already using the pre-existing building of the Best Western, the Baymont Inn and Suites has kept similar amenities used by the Best Western in the change of ownership. Some of these amenities include use of the outdoor pool, free breakfast, as well as free high-speed internet. The change in ownership did not leave former employees looking for new jobs. The day BenitoLink was on site for photographs the person working the front desk stated that they had worked onsite for roughly a year and continued as an employee throughout the transition. While BenitoLink made initial contact with management inquiring about possible improvements and changes in the future due to new ownership, management did not provide further information at the time of the posting of this article.
