It's that time of year again, the Salinas Valley Fair kicks off tomorrow!  I sure knew it was coming with all the wind that's been howling through the valley this past week.  And boy has that wind dried out what little grass there was on the hills.  You can always count on windy afternoons at the Salinas Valley Fair, but, I don't know about this year as the weather forecasters are predicting temperatures in the 90's this week.  Windy or hot, the Salinas Valley Fair will be the place to be this week.
I hope all you mom's out there had a wonderful mother's day on Sunday.  I enjoyed Mother's Day with my boys, Buddy and Brody, Todd and my parents and sisters.  We had a nice brunch in Hollister.  The only thing that would have made it better would have been if Sierra was home from college.
Donna Palmer and her grandson Justin Jordan spent a few days in Carson City, NV visiting her newest great grandson.  Landon Harvey Stimka was born on April 14th in Reno, NV. Proud parents are Donna's granddaughter Ali and husband Josh.  Landon is Ali's first child and Donna's 16th great grandchild.  Landon's middle name, Harvey, was also his great grandpa, George's middle name.  Congratulations to all!
Congratulations to Jeff and Jean Schmidt who celebrated the 64th wedding anniversary on May 7th.  64 years is quite an achievement, much love to you both and here's wishing you many more!
Emily Brewen was recently honored at the King City High School FFA banquet.  Emily won the award for the Most Informed Greenhand.  That doesn't surprise me a bit.  She's always been a good student.  Good job Emily!
Birthday wishes go out to Kiana Almagaur who celebrated her 17th birthday last week and to Wacey Barrington who celebrated his 16th birthday.
Welcome home to Billy Whitney who had back surgery a few weeks ago but is now home recovering.
Have a great week everyone, enjoy the Salinas Valley Fair and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at with any news you'd like to share.
