The Northern California Bluegrass Society’s Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival at Bolado Park opened on Thursday and runs through Sunday. It will feature 25 California bands on the main stage and many more bands on the ‘tweener stage. Plus, the First Stage, beginning at noon on Friday in the RV camping area, will feature three bands.
The festival offers flush restrooms, hot showers, shade in the audience area, a low-power broadcast of the stage to the camp, shaded tent camping, plenty of convenient, close-in RV camping with both full hook-ups (water, sewer, power) and electric-only hook-ups, children’s activities, a raffle, food and craft vendors, nominations for the Northern California Bluegrass Awards, and handicapped access.
Tickets will be available at the gate, with a three-day adult pass for $95, two-day pass for $74, single-day Saturday ticket for $47 and single day Sunday for $37. Youth ages 13-17 get a 50 percent discount, senior discounts are available and children 12 and under are free.
Camping is free with all multi-day tickets. RVs that hook-up to electricity (or more services) pay $25 per night.
