It’s time to kick up your boots and break out the Western wear.
The 92nd San Benito County Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo is fast approaching, and along with the weekend’s events come the cowboy boots, hats, rhinestones and buckles.
Are you ready?
Whether you are looking for accessories to go with those boot-cut jeans and cowboy hat, or if you’re new to the Western scene and want to start fresh, BenitoLink has found places around San Benito County that will have you saying “Yee-haw!” as you boot-scoot’n boogie all the way to the rodeo.
1270 Fourth Street, Suite H, Hollister
Open daily, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The shop has been selling Western wear since it opened in Hollister four years ago. Chock-full of cowboy hats, boots, belts, buckles and Western shirts, it’s a great place to build a Western wardrobe. In addition to its large inventory, owner Ana Diaz said El Navegante also offers hat-shaping and cleaning.

Open Monday through Friday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.,
Saturday: 10 a.m to 7 p.m., Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The retail chain has a variety of Western and work-related apparel for men and women. The large selection of boots, jeans, hats, dresses and jewelry make it a good place to build a Western outfit or just accessorize.
6851 Airline Hwy, Unit F, Tres Pinos
Wednesday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This Tres Pinos shop had its start as a vendor at the SBC Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo, and plans to be back this year. After vending at a number of local rodeos and fairs, its storefront opened in January and now offers custom motocross jersey printing and custom tailored merchandise, as well as a wide selection of Western wear.

Online store
This women’s clothing store describes itself as: “A little bit sassy and classy.” After searching its online inventory, it’s clear why: the store’s Western attire, cowhide handbags, necklaces, belts, hats, jewelry, wallets, clothing and fringe booties are perfect to begin, or add a little sass to, a women’s Western wardrobe.
207 Third Street, San Juan Bautista
Thursday through Monday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The San Juan Bautista thrift store is known as a curator of cultural treasures, vintage fashion and decor. Its wide selection of vintage apparel and accessories includes Western wear and accessories.
230 5th Street, Hollister
Monday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A fixture in Hollister for more than 80 years, this women’s boutique has a curated selection of modern apparel, accessories and jewelry. Anyone looking for some country flare will not only find options in fashionable items from brands Liverpool Los Angeles, Clara Sunwoo and Brighton jewelry, but also in its selection of printed and fringe purses, whimsical Mary Frances handbags and fun blouses touting such phrases “Howdy” and “Adios Cowboy.”
