The Cal Poly graduate students who are implementing Cal Poly’s contract to update the City’s General Plan came to San Juan Bautista this Sunday with their “Plan Vans”.
There were three “Plan Van” teams, which collected information at the Mission, in front of Union Bank on Third Street and in front of the Windmill Market. The “Plan Van” is an outreach strategy to reach those who were unable to attend the first community meeting for input into the General Plan Update. It posed the same questions as asked in the first community meeting.
“What are the strengths of San Juan Bautista?”
“What is holding San Juan back?”
“What could help San Juan Bautista achieve its full potential?”
The mobile “Plan Van” is a strategy which has not been used in San Benito County before and was able to collect information from a range of residents and visitors.
The second San Juan Bautista Community Meeting, which present the information gathered, will be held Tuesday, November 12, at the San Juan Community Center from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
