Candidates and committees for the six races in San Benito County have filed their first donation reports. In the second part of BenitoLink’s coverage of what has been filed to date, here is what candidates and committees running for the county auditor controller, county registrar of voters, and superintendent of schools have reported raising in the period from January to April.

Since April 19, the county has new campaign finance rules that cap individual contributions to county races at $2,500 per election and require donors to disclose their names for contributions over $25. Before, the county followed state rules that allowed donations of up to $5,900 per election and permitted donors who gave less than $100 to remain anonymous.
