On Jan. 23, CASA of San Benito County held its first CASA Cafe event at the Community Foundation for San Benito County’s Epicenter building in downtown Hollister.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) “work one-on-one with a foster youth, advocating for their best interest. Having a stable relationship with a supportive adult can help children who have experienced abuse and neglect do well, even when they have faced significant trauma and hardship.” – California CASA.

Zoe Martinez, CASA’s development coordinator, said the event is all about social gathering, building relationships, and letting the community know about volunteer opportunities.

The organizers plan to host the CASA Cafe event quarterly.
