The 5th Annual Heritage Night was held by the San Benito County Cattlewomen on April 16, 2013 at the Rustic Western 19th Hole in Tres Pinos, CA. The decorations for the event featured western boot-styled flower vases filled with fresh flowers. The evening’s speaker was Diane Rianda Barr who provided a lively and informative presentation about historical Post Offices that existed in San Benito County during the last 100 years. The evening started with a short business meeting, then a No Host Cocktail Hour which featured appetizers provided by members, then on to a fabulous Ribeye Steak Dinner with homemade desserts at the end of the meal provided by members of the organization. All attendees were eligible for a huge raffle basket that included local DeRose wine, a $50.00 certificate for beef at the Tri Way Meat Market, Cattlewomen napkins, spices, cookbooks and many other items. Charlotte (Punky) Tranberg was the winner of the basket. The evening was a delightful event that was sold to capacity within two weeks of the notice of the event. Chairperson for the evening was Janet French with committee members Diane Rodrigues, Martha Tobias, Margret Prewett, Helen Matulich, Marie Pera, Kori Hitchcock, Jessica Brem, Charlotte Cabral, Carolyn Renz, Frankie Gallagher and Diane Barr.
