The City of Hollister and the Hollister School District have announced new recreation opportunities. In addition to the school sites previously accessible (Calaveras, Cerra Vista, Rancho and Maze Middle
Schools), residents now have access to Ladd Lane and R.O. Hardin Schools. All sites are open to the public after 6 p.m. until dusk during school days. On weekends, holidays, and school breaks, they are
open from 8 a.m. to dusk.
“The City of Hollister is grateful to the leadership of the Hollister School District for expanding these recreational opportunities for the citizens. We look forward to a long and rewarding
partnership,” said  management services director Mike Chambless.
At the Nov. 6 Hollister City Council meeting, city officials approved a master agreement for the use of Hollister School District facilities.Â
The master agreement replaced five agreements that were currently in place and preserved the city’s access to these open areas until 2042. It also assigned maintenance responsibilities to the school district and commits the city to paying the district $330,000 annually from the General Fund for the use of the facilities.
