City officials sworn in

Hollister mayor, councilmembers, city treasurer take office

Hollister Mayor Ignacio Velazquez, new councilmembers Karson Klauer and Mickie Luna, and City Treasurer Cecilia Rios took the oath of office and were sworn in during a ceremony Tuesday at City Hall.

Velazquez is starting his second term, having defeated challenger Keith Snow during the November general election. Klauer takes over for former Councilwoman Pauline Valdivia, who chose not to run for reelection following 16 years on the council. Luna takes the seat vacated by Robbie Scattini, who moved to another district and unsuccessfully ran for the seat Klauer won.

Rios begins her first term as treasurer, a seat she won in the November election.
