At its June meeting, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, reviewed the follow-up report submitted by Gavilan College in March, and affirmed Gavilan's continuing accredited status through 2019.

Gavilan College president Steve Kinsella received a letter from the commission that reads, in part: "Based upon the College Follow-Up Report and evidence submitted, the Commission finds that Gavilan College has addressed College Recommendations 1 and 2 from the last comprehensive evaluation and has fully resolved the remaining deficiencies…" 

As part of the ongoing accreditation cycle, Gavilan College will next complete and submit a regular midterm report in March 2016. Gavilan's next comprehensive evaluation will be submitted in 2019.
