I believe in general, people have common sense. We all know that criminals should be put in jail, and everyone else should not have to worry much about being a victim in their everyday lives. We know that people should not steal anything, in our stores and from our porches. It is common sense that girls should never have to share private spaces with boys, especially when they are in vulnerable states, i.e., restrooms. Similarly, females should not have to compete with males in sports at an age when muscle mass matters. Schools are told to lie to parents, driving a wedge between parents and their children, being made to believe that a few sad and horrific incidences are reason common sense must be abandoned. Everybody knows we need secure borders and that ours are not.

Our eggs and pork are more expensive (along with everything else) because the rights of chickens and pigs are superior to you and I, according to over-zealous and over-powered Democrats in California. By law, fast food workers get $20 per hour to start here, which only incentivizes fast food restaurants to eliminate jobs and also increase the costs of eating to the families who rely on those restaurants and are already paying too much for gas for their cars.

Adding to the pain of higher costs endured by all but having more impact to those in the lower rungs of society, a UC Berkeley study shows California farmworkers earned less after an overtime wage bill passed was passed that lowered the threshold for overtime pay.

Don’t you want to someday to be able to buy a house or not have your rent increase by astronomical amounts each year? 2024 brings us another 1000 laws that do nothing to lower costs most of us experience in our every day lives and instead increases our cost of living. While you may feel good if you are one of the individuals who got away with not paying rent during COVID, California just piled on another reason rental units will decrease and corporate buyers will be the only landlords left: credit reports can no longer be used to evaluate prospective tenants. These types of things make it less attractive to be a landlord, decreasing supply and increasing risk, leading to higher rents.

California has among the highest electricity costs in the nation and soon the rates people pay will be determined by income. Yes, one way or another, PG&E will  have access to your tax returns and many will be paying more than others. The hallmark feature of how one party rule endures: keep the masses dependent on the government for basic necessities. Once the government gives you something for “free”, the beneficiaries never vote for someone that may take it away.

Our experiment with giving criminals more rights while decreasing the ability of honest people to live without fear is a dismal failure. How do you feel when you see and hear about the looting that goes on when you pay for everything you buy?  The poor people that rely on neighborhood stores for necessities no longer have them to walk to because they have closed.

Illegal aliens that come across our borders in the millions are now entitled to free healthcare in California. The cost of this is tremendous in dollars (you and I are paying for it) and the poor who are here legally now have to compete more for limited healthcare providers and everyone else will be waiting longer at Hazel Hawkin’s emergency room.

The other side are experts at holding President Trump and abortion over the Republican Party. I get that, but we live here, in California, where rights to abortions are not in jeopardy and Trump is not a factor (Californians as a whole will not vote for). So why are you putting up with this? Do you think those in power today are really doing anything to lower the costs of living?

They have not and will not. They are the opposite of the Republican Party whose values are surrounded by limited government and lower taxes. Limited government, means government is not too involved in your life; you decide which eggs to buy. Less government means less costs which translates to lower taxes and more freedoms for you to decide what to do with your money.

I can see some readers attacking me on these points. But the truth of the matter is hundreds of thousands of now former Californians have left and are continuing to leave the state, leaving us with a $68 Billion deficit for next year to deal with. They left for lower taxes, lower costs, and less government in their lives. Will you be next, or would you rather we change our ways and bring back a reasonable California?  I am willing to work along with you so that we can stay.

In my opinion, the California Republican Party has given up on the state of California, because not enough people are willing to say “enough with one party rule.” But we can bring California back where two parties have to hash out policy issues and we end up somewhere in the middle. It can begin with you registering and voting Republican.

I know it’s tough, but today, set aside concerns about the age of Joe, Donald’s election claims, Hunter, and January 6. Others on our respective teams got us covered on that. The immediate crisis we are victims of are right here, in our backyard.
