Commuters drive an average of 52 miles, one-way, to jobs outside of San Benito County, according to a survey conducted by the Council of Governments, Economic Development Corporation and the Community Foundation for San Benito County. According to those polled, most residents said they would prefer to work in the county and would even consider a pay cut to avoid long commutes.
