A decade after it was built — but not to completion — Valley View Park will be getting a facelift after the Hollister City Council on Monday authorized spending $150,000 to finish the planned improvements.
The improvements include:
- expanded security lighting
- safety improvements for the whale water feature
- walking trails
- a playground for children ages 2-5
- half a basketball court
- additional seating areas
- a shade structure
Management Services Director Mike Chambless said in a report to the council that the improvements can be completed in time for the Memorial Day opening of the "splash pad" water feature at the park.
