The San Benito County Planning Department is pleased to announce that the Draft Safety Element Update is now available for public review. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in sharing this important community outreach opportunity with your audience.
The Safety Element is part of the County’s General Plan and evaluates both natural and human-made hazards, as well as the impacts of climate change. The update is intended to help reduce long-term risks associated with wildfires, floods, droughts, earthquakes, landslides, and other hazards affecting our community.
The public review period will be open July 3, 2026, through August 2, 2026. During this time, community members are encouraged to review the draft document and submit comments online. Public input will help shape the final Safety Element before it is considered for adoption.
