Adult Literacy Team at the San Benito County Free Library.  Left to Right:  Sally Tiffany, Library Assistant; Rosa Garcia, Literacy Assistant; and Wendy Kay, Literacy Coordinator.

Do you or someone you know have problems filling out job applications, helping a child with their homework, reading a drug prescription, or getting ahead on the job because of poor English reading and writing skills? The San Benito County Free Literacy Program can help!  One-on-one tutoring for adults is available at the library free of charge.

The library’s Adult Literacy Program welcomes learners who wish to strengthen their English writing and speaking skills and encourages those who want to make a difference in their communities to become tutor volunteers. Literacy application forms for both tutors and learners are available at the library, and completed literacy forms may be turned in at the Front Desk.

Our literacy program is funded by the California Library Literacy Program (CLLS).  For more information on program requirements or to volunteer, please call Wendy Kay or Rosa Garcia at 831-636-4107 or email Wendy at wkay@cosb.us or Rosa at rgarcia@cosb.us.  Thank you!

If you want to volunteer your time as a tutor call 831 636-4107 ext. 20 and ask for Wendy Kay or Rosa Garcia.
