A Hollister Cub Scout Pack sold so much popcorn during its annual fundraiser that it won a game truck party, held on Jan. 10 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tres Pinos.
Cub Scout Pack 444 Head Scoutmaster Bryan Feci said 31 scouts earned $70,000 in popcorn sales this past fall.
“We were the No. 1 selling unit in the entire Silicon Valley Council,” Feci said, “which stretches from Fremont all the way out to Monterey, so everywhere in the Bay Area.”
Feci thanked the community for all of their support, and said the pack wouldn’t have finished on top of the regional fundraiser sales effort without the people in Hollister supporting Cub Scouts.
“My son, Joshua Feci, sold $20,000 worth of popcorn,” he said, “and it’s his fifth year of doing it. He sells more and more each year.”

Entertainment was provided by the EZPZ Mobile Video Game Theater, owned by Sean Kahuila, who has provided his game truck to the scouts many times before.
“The kids pile in for a couple of hours and play what they want, ” Kahuila said, “It’s a group activity that they all get to enjoy and can share with each other.”
Kahuila said that the truck provides games like Mario Kart and Minecraft, as well as sports games like Madden NFL and NBA 2K.
Popcorn sales are the scouts’ major fundraiser of the year, according to Feci.
“We depend on fundraisers to fund everything that we do throughout the year,” Feci said, “All their patches, all their pins, all the belt loops that they earn, as well as doing all the scouting activities and participating in events.”
