During a second phase of repaving, Frazier Lake Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. over four days starting Aug. 21.
After 5 p.m. the road will be open for use in the evening, San Benito County Public Works Administrator and Engineer Steve Loupe said.
Frazier Lake Road residents, businesses and emergency responders will have access to the road even during the road closure, Loupe said.
The road will be closed starting from Shore Road to Bloomfield Avenue.
The upcoming phase is unlike the first, which occurred earlier this month, because the closures are scheduled during the day. Loupe said this is not only a cost-saving choice, but also a safety measure to protect road workers.
Phase 3 of construction is yet to be scheduled, but should start sometime in September, Loupe said. That phase will include striping before the repaving project is completed.
In total, the project will cost $2.6 million, Loupe said.
Frazier Lake Road serves as an alternative connector route between Hollister and Gilroy.
