The Del Mar Caregiving Resource Center will host a caring for patients with dementia workshop in Hollister on Oct. 12. The workshop will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Hollister Community Center, located at 300 West Street.
Dealing with Dementia is an educational program designed to help family caregivers of people living with dementia. Participants will receive a 362-page resource guide to help caregivers in their care of those affected by dementia.
Topics will include:
- Safety
- Dementia friendly lifestyle
- Problem solving
- Managing challenging behaviors
- Stress management
- Self-care for the caregiver
A recent release notes that participants will gain increased self-confidence in handling dementia-related behaviors and knowledge of dementia.
