On Sept. 18, San Benito County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 2:20 pm, Leonardo DeLaRosa was contacted during a traffic enforcement stop on Karen Ct. on Westside Blvd. in Hollister. DeLaRosa was driving on a suspended driver license and also had a confirmed warrant for his arrest out of San Benito County.

 

During a vehicle inventory search, the report stated that officers located a red bandana in the center console between the driver and passenger seat. “Deputy Hutchison un-wrapped the bandana and found it contained a loaded, semi-automatic handgun (.22 caliber). The magazine had 7 rounds inside. Also located inside the vehicle were a glass narcotics smoking pipe and a box of ammunition.  The box contained an extra 30 bullets for the firearm,” the Sheriff’s report said. 

 

Leonardo DeLaRosa,33, was arrested without incident and was transported and booked into the San Benito County Jail on the following charges:

 

25850(a) PC Carry Loaded Firearm

14601.1 VC Drive with a Suspended License

11364 H&S Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Misdemeanor Warrant
