The California Highway Patrol reported that a man was killed in a suspected solo car crash at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 17 on Santa Ana Valley Road, east of Rodeo Drive in San Benito County.

The driver, 32-year-old Ivan Gutierrez Aguilar, was taken to Natividad Medical Center where later died from his injuries.

The CHP said Aguilar, who is survived by his pregnant wife Maria Preciado and their three children, apparently was ejected from the car after making an unsafe turn. Alcohol is suspected as a cause of the crash, though the CHP said the accident is still under investigation.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses.
