The Hollister Police Department reported a collision between a semi truck and automobile occurred at approximately 11:18 a.m. Friday. According to a police spokesperson, the vehicle rear-ended the big-rig at San Felipe and McCloskey roads, causing major damage to the car.

The female driver of the car was injured and transported to Hazel Hawkins Hospital by ambulance. The police said the woman was alone in the car and no one else suffered any injuries.

The spokesperson said the truck was stopped at the stoplight when the car crashed into it, and that there was apparently no drugs or alcohol involved. Because the accident is still under investigation the police could not give further details.
