The Elections Department would like to confirm that the top portion of the Official Ballot commonly known as a “stub” is no longer found on the ballot for the Presidential General Election on November 5, 2024.
The “stub,” formally on the Official Ballot, is used by the printers to insert all items into each Voting Kit. A Voting Kit includes a sample ballot, an insert with an “I voted” sticker, a return envelope, Voter Information Guide and an Official Ballot. The removal of the stub from the Official Ballot to the sample ballot will save voters time and facilitate the voted ballot in fitting in the return envelope.
“We appreciate voters that have called to confirm that the “stub” is gone. Yes, we did this to help you, the voter, fit your Official Ballot in the return envelope,” said Francisco Diaz, County Clerk- Recorder/ Registrar of Voters.
The Elections Department encourages you to cast a ballot including:
- Voting by Mail – use your return envelope and Voter Information Guide in the
convenience of your home. - Vote in Person – The Election Department is open for in-person voting as of Monday,
October 7, 2024. An additional location located at Abundant Life Church is scheduled to open Saturday, October 26. Two additional locations at St. Benedict Church and San Juan Bautista Community Center are scheduled to open on Saturday, November 2. All locations will be open on Elections Day. The Community Foundation, San Andreas Conference Room is scheduled to also be open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 as a Satellite Office, providing the same services as a Vote Center. – this makes a total of 4 Vote Centers, and 1 Satellite Office open on Election Day. - Mobile Voting will be open during the month of October, the schedule will be finalized
and distributed soon. Mobile voting will have all the same functions as a Vote Center.
