As part of County Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters, Francisco Diaz, dedication to keeping the public informed about the ongoing election, the Elections Department will periodically release statistical data up to Election Day. This status report is up to date as of February 24 at 3:00 p.m.

As of February 24, 2024, the Elections Department has received an estimated 2,158 ballots, which accounts for approximately 6% of the total registration population of about 36,100. The County Library (formerly the Elections Department) stands out as the busiest drop box, closely followed by Hollister Fire Station #2. Conversely, the Community Foodbank of San Benito County appears to have the least activity. The preferred method of returning ballots continues to be traditional USPS mail delivery, with an anticipated surge expected to begin on February 26. To manage the expected increase in volume, the Elections Department is increasing staffing and making necessary preparations.
