Patrick Ellis will lead Chamberlain's Children Center through its transitional phase while the board selects its next executive director. According to the Chamberlain's website, the Children Center based in Hollister, "empowers at-risk children in a home-like environment to heal from past trauma, discover their strengths, and develop the skills they need to achieve life-long success."
After seven years as executive director at Chamberlain’s Children Center, Robert Freiri has left to begin work as the executive director of the Housing Industry Foundation in San Mateo. Freiri's impact on Chamberlain’s and San Benito County will be dearly missed.
Chamberlain’s Board of Directors named Ellis as interim executive director to guide the leadership transition. For more than 16 years, Ellis has served in various leadership positions at Chamberlain’s. He has played a key role in the development and management of Chamberlain’s Wellness Center facilities and programs while providing leadership of Chamberlain’s Residential Treatment Program, quality improvement committees, volunteer management, and staff development.
In his most recent role as program director, Ellis led Chamberlain’s management team to the organization’s attainment of Joint Commission National Accreditation. He is an alum of Leadership San Benito County and the LEAD program through the Community Foundation of Monterey County’s Center for Non-Profit Excellence.
