The 33rd District Agricultural Association (DAA) will kick off fair season with the annual Pre-Fair Dinner & Fundraiser on Saturday, Aug, 13. The event will be held at Bolado Park Event Center in the Pavilion. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the presentation of the 2016 San Benito County Fair.
The Pre-Fair Dinner & Fundraiser begins at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour featuring bluegrass music, a silent auction, mystery boxes, and the opportunity drawing for themed baskets provided by 4-H clubs, FFA, and the Bolado Park Youth Ambassador Program. Additionally, a live auction and reverse drawing will keep the fun-filled evening packed with excitement.
Tickets for the event are $35 per person and can be purchased from the fair office or any member of the 33rd DAA Board of Directors. Individuals may visit the fair partner ticket outlets, Ace Hardware, Postal Graphics, Ranchers Feed and the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce for Pre-Fair Dinner & Fundraiser tickets as well.
The $100 Reverse Draw tickets must be purchased in advance at the fair office, and winners need not be present to win. "Attending the event, participating in the drawing, and donating auction items provide perfect opportunities to support your local fair which benefits youth and the greater San Benito County community at large," CEO and Fair Manager Donnette Carter said in a press release.
The 2016 San Benito County Fair begins with the Fair Horse Show activities Sept. 23-26. Full fair events happen Sept. 29-Oct. 2. The run of the fair includes livestock shows, expanded entertainment, food vendors, commercial exhibitors, amusements, the Taste of San Benito, Heritage Foundation activities, and more. The theme this year is "Blue Ribbon Memories."
The fair office may be reached at 628-3421 or 9000 Airline Highway for ticket purchase or information on the 2016 San Benito County Fair. The fair entry guidebook is available at www.sanbenitocountyfair.com.
