Community Wildfire Meeting: Paicines

The San Benito Wildfire Resilience Program (SBWRP) is hosting two community meetings in August to provide residents with information and gather input to update the countywide Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), last updated in 2010. As wildfire frequency and severity continues to increase, it is more important than ever for communities to have a plan in place to prepare for, reduce the risk of, and adapt to wildland fire events. Your participation will help to ensure that the updated CWPP considers values important to you!
Dinner will be provided to registrants, courtesy of a grant awarded to UC Cooperative Extension.  A Working Lands Stipend is available to those who own/manage working ranches or farms in San Benito County, in recognition of the value of your time away from your farm business to attend community meetings. Please share this important information with your neighbors and friends who live in high wildfire risk areas of San Benito County. Details and registration for each meeting are attached and below:
Thursday, August 15th, 5:30-8:00 pm at Jefferson School, 221 Old Hernandez Rd, Paicines. Residents of Paicines, Panoche, Bitterwater, and nearby communities are encouraged to attend, but all are welcome. Register Here.
Core partners for the CWPP update include the San Benito Fire Safe Council, San Benito Agricultural Land Trust, San Benito Resource Conservation District, San Benito Office of Emergency Services, Central Coast Prescribed Burn Association, San Benito County Cattlemen’s Association, Bolado Park and Event Center, University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources Cooperative Extension, City of Hollister Fire Department, California State Parks, Amah Mutsun Land Trust, Bureau of Land Management, CAL FIRE, and National Park Service.
