If anyone is wondering whether the Farmers' Market's move to San Benito Street would impact its success, another week of what appears to be consistently large crowds are an indication that it is, indeed, a positive move for the market and the downtown.

On the heels of the City of Hollister regaining control of San Benito Street from the state, the move of the Farmers' Market off of 5th Street onto the downtown's main thoroughfare is an indication by the city and the Downtown Association of the direction of things to come for the area.

Along with a variety of goods being offered for sale, this week's market offered plentiful produce in local and organic varieties. Among the fare for sale was fresh broccoli, cilantro,  tomatoes and peaches. Organic berries; blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries were available along with iicy, fresh-squeezed lemonade that was made to order, oven-fired pepperoni and jalapeno pizza, and a churros.

The Farmers' Market opens for business at 3 p.m. every Wednesday on San Benito Street.
