CalFire was battling a wildfire off New Idria Road and Panoche Road in southern San Benito County on Saturday, July 9.
By approximately 6 p.m., the state's firefighting agency said the blaze, dubbed the Mercury Fire, was 75 percent contained and had scorched 60 acres south of the Panoche Inn.
