Former San Benito High School water polo star Katie Buzzetta has been hired as the head coach of the Los Altos High School girls' varsity team, according to the Los Altos Town Crier newspaper.

Buzzetta was promoted to varsity head coach after one year guiding the girls junior-varsity team. She played water polo at SBHS, where she was four-time most valuable player of the varsity team and as captain led the Haybalers to their first league championship. Buzzetta then played four seasons at San Jose State University. Although she scored more than 100 goals over her final two high school years, the Town Crier reported that Buzzetta "was known more as a defensive force in college, winning multiple defensive awards."
