Led by the VFW Post 9242 and local Scouts color guards, along with Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross, the annual Fourth of July Kiddie Parade drew a good crowd for the event on Memorial Drive in Hollister on July 4.

Organized by the Hollister Parks and Recreation Department, the event included dozens of families and children riding patriotically themed bicycles, scooters, strollers, and wagons.

After the parade, attendees gathered at Veterans Memorial Park for the national anthem, comments by Mayor Roxanne Stephens, photos with Betsy Ross and Uncle Sam, portrayed by Ruth Erickson and Jim Hart, and refreshments and a small U.S. flag to keep.

The parade was moved to Memorial Drive this year from downtown due to the Hollister Independence Rally.
