Free Non-Lead Ammunition Drawing Now Open

Big game hunters in San Benito County are eligible to enter drawing for non-lead ammo

Ventana Wildlife Society assists hunters and ranchers in the transition to non-lead ammunition. We are now accepting entries for monthly non-lead ammunition drawings.

Big game hunters are eligible to receive one free box of non-lead centerfire ammunition if they are at least 18 years of age, reside in the California Condor range (including all of San Benito and Monterey counties), and are selected during the drawings.

To enter, hunters can submit an online entry by visiting the website, choosing a preferred product from a menu and providing their shipping information. Selections will be made on June 30, July 31, and Aug. 31. If selected, hunters will then receive their ammunition directly from a reputable retailer.

Ventana Wildlife Society has given away more than 3,400 boxes of non-lead ammunition in four years of this program.
