A grand time was had by all at the 57th annual Gavilan Auxiliary Chapter of the Kinship Center's Fundraiser for their programs in San Benito County. The event is the oldest wine festival in the United States, according to organizers.
More than1,300 people gathered on the lawns of the beautiful Historic Paicines Ranch, hosted by Sallie Calhoun.
The event was co-chaired by Suzie Crump and Kris Waller, who said that the tickets sales were way up from the past few years and they are confident that they will exceed their fundraising goal. Last year they sent $55,000 to the Kinship office in Salinas. They feel they will be able to increase the donation this year.
Among the items Auctioneer Mark Wright took bids on were vacation getaways and the three day use of a Rolls Royce.
It is the Kinship Center's mission to "create and support safe, permanent homes for children coming from abuse, neglect or abandonment."
