Hundreds of special-needs children from San Benito and Santa Clara counties participated in the 11th annual Gifted Games on Friday, May 13 at Gilroy High School — part of an annual rotation where the event is held either there or at San Benito High School, where the competition originated.
"The Gifted Games give students with disabilities an opportunity to compete in physical sports and games, feel a sense of pride, accomplishment, socialize, and have fun with their classmates and the community," according to a statement from organizers.
Schools from preschool through high school participated in the event, which was staffed by volunteers and students.
Photographer Joshua Miller attended the event and captured photos for BenitoLink.
