A heat advisory has been issued for Hollister, San Benito County and the surrounding areas on July 14 by the National Weather Service, which is forecasting high temperatures this week for the Central Coast and Bay Area, with low to high 90s across the interior and 80s along the coastline.
A heat advisory will be in effect for Hollister and San Benito County from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., when the temperatures could reach into the 90s.
Following is the four-day forecast for Hollister and San Benito County.
Tuesday, July 14: Partly Sunny, High 89°F
Wedesday, July 15, Sunny, High 87°F
Thursday, July 16, Sunday, High 81°F
Friday, July. 17, Mostly Sunny, High 78°F
According to the Natonal Weather Service, Hydration is a critical piece to surviving the heat. Drink water and, if possible, take water to those who are vulnerable.
To reduce the risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shade or air-conditioned environments.
Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
