San Benito High School seniors are facing their last semester before they are set free into the world. While some plan on college, others will go straight into jobs.

Senior Casey Dearden said he is “Glad to be done” with the long, difficult road. After graduation, he plans to serve a mission for a church, and then major in English literature in college. Dearden said he has really “enjoyed the atmosphere” at SBHS and said his favorite experience has been the school play. Dearden’s words of advice for underclassmen is to “take advantage as long as you can.”

Senior Mecha Club President, Elissa Rodriguez, said she “learned a lot in high school” about who she is. After graduation, she plans to find a “summer job to save up for college.” She got accepted to Humboldt State. She says high school has been a “good memory,” as she has been involved in six clubs, and she advises that underclassmen to get involved now, and “do your work and listen in class.”

There are many senior activities coming up. On Feb. 25 the senior panoramic picture was scheduled to be taken. May 9 is the seniors’ last Prom, followed by Senior Parent Night on May 14. Senior awards Night is on May 19, and the graduation trip to Disneyland is 10 days later. June 5 is graduation day. The seniors will also experience many activities for the last time over the next few months such as their last rallies, and last set of final exams and AP tests.
