Recology San Benito County is reminding customers that there will be some changes to the garbage and recycling collection schdedules during the two-week holiday period leading to the new year.
Service is normal on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, but there will no service on Christmas, Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday customers will have their garbage and recycling collected on Friday instead. Customers who normally have Friday collection will instead have their waste hauled off on Saturday, Dec. 27.
That pattern repeats during the last week of the year, with normal service Monday, Dec. 29 through Wednesday, Dec. 31. There will be no service on New Year's Day, Thursday, Jan. 1, and Thursday customers can expect pick-up on Friday, Jan. 2. Friday customers will have their garbage and recycling collected on Saturday. Jan. 3.
