The fifth annual annual Hollister Air Show will take place at the Hollister Muncipal Airport on Father’s Day Weekend, with aerobatic performances, a car show, a motorcycle stunt show and aircraft displays among the features of the two-day event.
Gates open Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m., when fly-in participants also arrive. The airshow begins both days at 11:15 a.m. with performances, including aerobatics. Six hundred seats will be available along the flight lines during the weekend.The airshow closes at 3:40 p.m., though Donald Elvis and the Houndogs will perform their rock and roll show from 3:45-5 p.m. Saturday. Gates to the event close at 4.
Tickets are available at the airport manager’s office and will be sold at a ticket window on Saturday and Sunday. Single-day admission costs are $15 for adults (age 13 and above); $10 for children (ages 6-12); and free for children under 5. Parking is $5 and free County Express shuttles will be available in Hollister and San Juan Bautista. Click here for the schedule.
“The airport carries a tradition in many of our local community’s hearts,” said Mayor Ignacio Velasquez. “There are many pilots who call this place one of Hollister’s best kept secrets due to their love of flying. It is a local hub where many aviators young and seasoned alike gather to share their passion for aviation.”
No alcohol, glass containers or coolers will be allowed at the air show. Concession booths will sell food and beverages and guests can purchase rides in airplanes and gliders.
