Hollister Buena Vista Bridge Club presents free Bridge classes

Lessons begin Saturday, April 21. The first four classes are free.

Starting Saturday, April 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Buena Vista Bridge Club of Hollister will be hosting free four Easybridge! lessons at the ARTspace Annex located at 217 Fifth Street. Taught by ACBL-Certified Instructor Skip Pack, the lessons are open to all ages and are designed for beginners, people returning to bridge after some years, or social players who want to learn modern bridge.

"Bridge is a game where two-person partnerships compete, so it's a natural for one couple to invite another over for an evening of bridge, and also for groups of any size to get together so the friendly competition is spread over a number of tables with pairs playing a number of hands against one pair then moving to play another," Bridge Instructor Skip Pack said. "From the '30s through the '60s, bridge was a very major form of social activity. As the modern version of bridge (called contract bridge) evolved from its definition in 1925, it became very popular as a social activity and Hollister and San Benito County were full participants."
