In a testament to dedication and skill, the fields of Rancho San Justo Middle School have been alive with the energy of young football enthusiasts this spring season. With over 180 youths, ranging from ages 8 to 15, converging twice a week, the spirit of camaraderie and competition has never been stronger.
However, this spring holds a special significance for the Hollister Cowboys youth football and cheer program. Having kicked off their season in March, the anticipation has been building, and now, the excitement reaches its peak as four of their teams gear up to compete for D1 championships this coming Saturday. The 8U Primetime boys, 10U Outlaws, 12U Bombsquad, and 14U Regulators are poised to showcase their talent and determination on the field, representing not only their program but their entire community.
Participating in one of the most competitive leagues in both spring and fall, the Hollister Cowboys have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. This achievement not only reflects the hard work and dedication of the players and coaching staff but also underscores the unwavering support and enthusiasm of the community.
Affiliated with the esteemed American Youth Football organization, the Hollister Cowboys have consistently demonstrated excellence on both regional and national stages. From USA Football to NorCal competitions, they have consistently upheld their reputation as a program committed to fostering athletic talent and personal growth.
Founded in 2019 by local parents, including the organization’s president, Jose Martinez, the Hollister Cowboys embody the spirit of grassroots community involvement. Martinez, drawing from his own experiences in Pop Warner football and high school championships, brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his role as a coach. Like all the coaches within the program, Martinez volunteers his time, driven by a shared commitment to empowering young athletes and shaping future leaders.
As the Hollister Cowboys prepare to take the field May 11, the entire community stands behind them, united in pride and anticipation. Win or lose, their journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, teamwork, and community support. And as they compete for championship glory, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of a community rallying behind their every play.
