On May 13, 2024, the City of Hollister welcomed Jonathan Goulding to serve as Fire Chief. In his capacity as Fire Chief, he will also serve both San Benito County and the City of San Juan Bautista.
Mr. Goulding comes to Hollister with a comprehensive background of 25 years of experience in fire service. He served the City of Watsonville most recently, holding the battalion chief position. He also has an extensive background in training and is certified by California State Fire Training to teach five different state certified courses. He has over ten years as a fire department training officer.
Mr. Goulding holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Sonoma State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Leadership and Administration from Arizona State University, with a concentration in Executive Fire Administration. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District for the past five years. Mr. Goulding enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer and their two adult sons.
