Hollister Little League’s 10U All-Stars are bringing home the trophy after defeating the Union Little League 10U All-Stars 4-1 on July 22 to win the Section 5 tournament.
After falling 9-2 in their first shot at the championship on July 21, Hollister rebounded in a second winner-take-all game to beat Union Little League 4-1 on July 22 and secure the section title.
The victory marks the first time a Hollister Little League team has advanced to a state tournament since 2010. The All-Stars finished the Section 5 tournament with a 4-1 record after going 4-0 in District 9 play to capture the district championship.
Members of the Hollister Little League 10U All-Stars Section 5 championship team are Rowan Rojas, Endrik Betancourt, Kolton Laubach, Silas Quintero Jr., Rocco Rossi, Nixon Moreno, Jameson Kakebeen, Reece Sharp, Maddox Huerta, Chase Sutton, Aiden Medina and Ethan Zaragoza.
The team will open state tournament play against District 34 champion Lemoore Little League’s 10U All-Stars on July 25 at 11:30 a.m. on Field 2 at Marshall Park, 40432 Torenia Circle in Fremont.
