Hollister Parks and Recreation Commission opportunity available

Applications to serve as District 1 commissioner are available at City Hall. The position is open until filled and the term is until December 2020.

Hollister Councilwoman Carol Lenoir is looking to fill the District 1 position on the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission. There are no special requirements other than living in city limits and a genuine feel for the community, Lenoir said.

Applications are available at City Hall at 375 Fifth Street and the position is open until filled. The term is until December 2020.

The commission serves as an advisory body to the Hollister City Council, whose charge is to promote, achieve, and ensure that adequate and comprehensive policies, programs, services, and recreation facilities exist for the citizens of the city of Hollister, according to the city’s website.

The commission meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the City Council chambers. All meetings are open to the public, and participation and attendance are encouraged.
