Hollister Police and Animal Services Seek Public’s Help

Seeking information about abandoned pony

HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – November 22, 2013– On November 20, 2013 about 8:00 AM, Hollister Police Officers and Animal Care & Services Officers responded to a call of a sick horse in the area of Fallon Road and Shelton Drive.

The pony now named “Captain” was unable to stand for long periods of time. The horse appeared malnourished and dehydrated. Animal Care & Services Officers took the animal into protective custody and immediately summoned a veterinarian to treat the horse. At this time, it appears the animal will most likely make a full recovery.

The Hollister Police Department’s Animal Care and Services Bureau is seeking the publics help in locating person’s responsible for the abandonment and neglect of“Captain”.
