Hollister police arrest man for possession of a firearm and DUI

The Hollister Police Department arrested a man for possession of a firearm and driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a recent press release.

On Sept. 11 at about 10:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to 10 San Felipe Road (the Quik Stop store) regarding an intoxicated subject trying to pick a fight with patrons. As officers were responding, a witness observed the intoxicated subject conceal a firearm in his waistband, the release said.

The first officer arrived and contacted Robert Reames from Galt, CA. The officer took quick action and stopped Reames from any further threatening behavior. According to the release, police found a loaded handgun and loaded extra magazine on Reames. The officer conducted a DUI investigation and found Reames to be under the influence.

Reames was arrested and booked into San Benito County Jail on charges of possession of a loaded firearm in public and driving under the influence of alcohol.
